<p>Along side his brother Ashley, George Dixon Abraham was one of the first to heavily publicise rock climbing in Britain through his photography. George was the eldest son of publisher George Perry Abraham. His father no doubt influenced him and his brother, as he himself published many photos and postcards of landscapes around Cumbria. [1]</p>
<p>Never apart, Ashley and George published many guidebooks around the UK, most notably 'Rock Climbing in the English Lake District' [2]. "They complemented each other perfectly: George the often leading, graceful, supple and balanced...", Geoffrey Winthrop Young (Wells, 2008) [3].</p>
